Ladies and gentlemen, busters and hustlers, actors and trappers, time to take a seat and get motivated. Today’s class focuses on Mr. Thug Motivation himself, Da Snowman, Young Jeezy. Jeez, to some might seem to just come out of nowhere and just took over, but it has been a long time coming and a lot of movement in between. The Atlanta bread rapper has been making a name for himself by doing the street ‘route’ before stepping out on the scene (doing many mix tapes and shows). While doing so he made such street bangers as “Ova here” featuring Bun B (from UGK) and “F@@kin’ around” feat the one and only Trick Daddy.

Now he has: made a deal with both Def Jam and Bad Boy, made songs with the self proclaimed king of the south T.I., Cash Money’s top earner Lil Wayne, Young Buck from the mega group G-Unit and the king amongst kings Jay-Z (who also sat next to his young protégé at the MTV awards), enough said. He was able to sign a 50-50 deal with Bad Boy as apart of the group Boyz n Da Hood, a group that was put together by Russell “Block” Spencer, co-owner of Sho’ Nuff Records. The group brought more of ATL’s finest together, Big Duke, Big Gee, and Jody Breeze. Spencer, somehow recreated the equation that gave the world NWA (as close as humanly possible), by putting together a group of street credible and lyrically strong individuals (all with solo efforts) and they just clicked to give the public a hard hitting rap group which hasn’t been seen for a minute now.

Young Jeezy put his solo effort on hold to work on the group effort, and after that dropped on June 21, of ’05 he had little time to relax and dropped his solo effort a month later, “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101” produced by Cash Money’s producer Mannie Fresh on July 26. Well he got it, the album has been considered certified platinum on its 11th week, but due to his success it has been said Jeezy will not continue being part of Boyz N Da Hood; there has been speculation that T.I and Lil Wayne will become part of the group, but with T.I., at least that is only speculation. "I have not and will not be joining Boyz N Da Hood. Although I am and have always been part of the movement, I am not a member of the group. This is just another case of 'Urban Legend'," T.I states in an interview with Vibe on October, 17 2005. With the respect of his peers in the game, the public and his motivation it is evident that Da Snowman will not be melting and just in case you had your head in the sand go cop that album and get motivated.
